The National Wedding Show
By Anisa Topan
If you’re getting hitched and are overwhelmed about your “Big Day”, worry not. The place to cater to your every need is the ‘National Wedding Show’ - the biggest and most successful show for anyone in the process of conjuring up his or her big day. This infamous three-day spectacular puts the fun back into wedding planning.
British Bridal Exhibition

The first show was held at London’s Earls Court in September 2007 and the second is between 12th-14th October at the Birmingham NEC. The ‘National Wedding Show’ offers on-hand expert exhibitors who can help you organise your day, give you great ideas and help you sort out all of the logistics from car hire to cakes, and even down to your honeymoon!

If you are the bride-to-be and are looking for a gown, daily there are four glamorous, catwalk shows that will give you ideas for a more directional dress for your special day with plenty of designer dresses and the ability to preview the latest wedding trends. The catwalk shows also offer plenty of inspiration for the mother of the bride, grooms wear and gorgeous bridesmaids dresses. Caryn Franklin will be presenting a live makeover show where you will get serious inspiration for the look you want and practical guidance from award-winning stylists and make-up artists. Last year there was a selection of richly embroidered dresses by designers Merchants of India and this year Ami London will be showing to keep you abreast with the latest Indian wedding fashions. The great thing about the show is the fact that you can meet the companies you will be working with as opposed to relying on brochures; whatever your budget.

Book your tickets to the ‘National Wedding Show’ to enjoy the atmosphere, be inspired, and find everything you need under one roof and all at a leisurely pace. It is possible to plan pretty much your whole day at

the show and discover unusual solutions to add that extra sparkle to your dream day. From eclectic bridesmaids gifts and fresh flower confetti to edgy stationery and hand-made photo albums to cherish the memories… the show has it all covered. After spending the day planning your perfect day, what better way to relax and celebrate than with a glass of chilled bubbly at the show’s ‘Champagne Bar.’

Tickets start at £12. Call 0870 730 0064 to book. The show opens from 10-6pm on Friday and Saturday and from 10-5pm on Sunday.
